Spring Displays: Remix, Ruffle, Protest, Paint

The Spring 2011 arts programme at the University of Bradford includes two displays which look at the use of art and design in protest:

Protest: Fight the Power remixes a  collection of British Council protest and propaganda posters mixed with African posters and contemporary work by artists and designers – staff, students and everyone encouraged to join in!

Ruffling Feathers is a gallery show of paintings by peace activist Cyril Mount, “highlighting the futility of war and the machinations of power”,  welcome additions to the University’s growing collection of art inspired by peace.  4-25 March 2011, Gallery II.  It coincides with the annual PeaceJam at the University, which brings together teenagers, students and Nobel laureates to educate and inspire.
